Foreign Agents Registration Act
Tracking the efforts of foreign countries and organizations to lobby the U.S. government became easier this week. The Justice Department launched a searchable online database of filings under the 1938 Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) - including reports filed during the current month.
This is an initial release of the
FARA document search tool,
providing Internet access to the vast majority of public documents on file with the FARA Registration Unit. However, because some potential privacy issues remain under review, there are certain FARA documents not available via the Internet at this time, but which still can be accessed at the FARA public office. Feedback and suggestions from the general public are encouraged and can be submitted by clicking on the following email address link: Fara.public@usdoj.gov
