Jobs: Visualizing Recovery, State By State
"Sometimes a skewed view offers greater clarity.
The most recent state-by-state unemployment figures, released Friday, show positive news in many states. The data from the Labor Department indicate, for example, that 15 states in October had unemployment rates lower than 5%, a few of them at or approaching prerecession rates. The national rate in October was 5.8%."
